I am sorry about the database errors that we had earlier today. They should be fixed now, but there may be some residual errors and perhaps some data loss from recent posts.

I have had to delete a few blank threads that were created this morning but appear to have lost their content.

Please let me know if you encounter any such errors.

Do we know what caused the problem?

A corrupted table. I have no idea what caused the corruption.

I will have a look at it for you if you would like.

Just pop it on a couple of CDs, and ring your local TNT office for a collection, leave it a few days then repeat the process.

Don't encrypt it as I have no software to decypher it with, but for security please password protect it. I suggest the password should be Brownslittledarling.

That's a very kind offer, but first I will need to ask all forum members when they first entered into consensual union.

I have no doubt Mr. Butcher is meticulous in making regular backups to his various Forums' databases. I am sure everyone would find it comforting indeed to know none of us is in jeopardy of losing one kilobyte of our precious post counts. Which would of course be an unfathomably tragic loss to the world and the annals of great literature.:-)

It does create an unexpected feeling of anxiety whenever the site goes down, no matter how briefly.

Best regards,

B.
