Time for truth about Europe

The European Union generates over 2,000 regulations each year, all of which pass automatically into British law – yet Britain’s politicians prefer not to reveal the full facts about the EU’s impact on our everyday lives.

To ensure that the British public realise the true extent of EU power, and to bring about an open and honest debate on the subject, the Campaign for an Independent Britain (CIB) has launched the ‘Time for Truth’ campaign.

CIB has published a series of ‘Time for Truth’ public information leaflets highlighting major areas in which the EU is having a far-reaching (and invariably negative) impact on daily life In the United Kingdom.

Covering topics from food prices to Post Office closures and EU ‘grants’, the new leaflets show how many important decisions that affect us all are made in Brussels rather than by our own elected representatives in Westminster, Edinburgh, Cardiff and Stormont.

The leaflets can be ordered on-line at Campaign for an Independent Britain, or by phone from 07092 857684.

I am posting the above because now is the right time to try and educate the public about the EU ,its aims ,methods and the effect of its actions on the UK.
These new leaflets are very good .We have sent thousands out already .
Most of the apathy in this country re the EU is based on ignorance .
If the public are better informed we hope that they will start demanding more of a say in our relationship with the EU .
The Tories need to be made aware that the public will not put up with being lied to anymore over the real aims and objectives of the EU.The only way to do that is to biuld up a real head of steam from the electorate re this matter .

Another useful posting from CIB :

Financial crisis blows a hole in European unity

Faced with a deepening international financial crisis, the governments of EU member states have abandoned any pretence of 'European unity' and have resorted to national action to tackle the problems in their own way.

The Campaign for an Independent Britain (CIB) has responded by calling for the British government and parliament to recognise the reality of the situation and take back full control of the UK economy.

CIB spokesman Andy Smith said: "The EU has revealed itself to be completely impotent in the face of the current economic crisis. Politicians across Europe have given up on the EU. They know that it is national action that is needed to overcome these problems.

"This is further proof that the EU - which was sold to us originally as an 'economic' community - is a failure by any measure. British taxpayers pay over £15 billion a year in direct costs for EU membership, and up to £50 billion in indirect costs. Who nowadays seriously believes that the EU is worth the money?

"MPs have no alternative but to conclude that the EU is obsolete and worthless, and that Britain would be better off out."

CIB recently launched a nation-wide ‘Time for Truth’ campaign with a series of public information leaflets highlighting the hidden costs of the EU and its negative impact on our daily lives through pointless bureaucracy and red tape. Leaflets cover topics from food prices to Post Office closures and wasteful EU ‘grants’.

The leaflets can be ordered on-line at Campaign for an Independent Britain.

Don't despair, the EU Commission (haven't heard a word from the EU Parliament) will come to the rescue at the eleventh hour just like the US cavalry. The manufactured "panic" will only last until the ministers meeting is over, the rescue plan will be revealed - more political integration of the EU, a European FSA under the auspicies of a World FSA.

Any bets?
