Veritas Party
After the unexpected resignation of the Party leader, , Veritas is pleased to announce that Therese Muchewicz, a long-standing member of the party and member of the NEC is to temporarily take over the leadership until leadership elections can be arranged in the autumn. Her appointment as Acting Leader was unanimously approved by the out-going Party Leader and members of the NEC. We wish her every success in this new and challenging appointment.
Having a woman in such a prominent position will highlight not only the equal opportunities that are open to members of the party but also the values for which the party stands.

Why highlight her gender, a leader of a political party should get the job on the basis of what they can do not what they were born

Never heard of them!
Checked out their website though, the policies seem okay, but it seems very similar to UKIP...

The Vanitas party were formed in the late spring of 2005 immediately prior to the general election of the same year - the one that had a record low attendance of voters and which produced not one (nor two) memebers of parliament for the conservatives in Scotland. Michael Howard was the leader at this time and resigned on the steps of Conservative Central Office with his wife standing by his side, tissue clutched in her shaking hand. Howard was a staunch supporter of "More Power to the Armed Forces" and immigration controls. If I rememebr correctly he was a member of Folkestone and Hythe.
Veritas was formed by RKS, Andrew Compton, Michael Bailey and a woman (can't now recall exactly her name). They were disappointed that Nigel farage refused to allow him to challenge Roger Knapman for the all-important leadership of "Britain's Fourth Most Influential Party". This was before the time that Doctor Bobby Spink has crossed the floor of the house in his wooden clogs and become the first, the very first MP that UKIP were able to take under their wing.
Robert Kilroy Silk was known as Kiljoy-Sock by Michael Natrass and he used to gurn and giggle and please most of the grannies and I think he was well-received when he performed a speech at the conference at Coulston Hall in Bristol.
Veritas got at least a thousand votes but there was scandal when one of the candidates was shown tearing up a couple of ballot papers.
