Think about that. If Britain ratifies the Constitution and later opts for withdrawal, it could face two years of unaccountable and unstoppable edict from a foreign body of which it wants no part, without any voice whatsoever.
But at least M Giscard has had the good grace to let us know. It's all quite a novelty. This is why the existence of the unratified Constitution is good for democracy. When UK voters, in full possession of the facts for the first time since our entry INTO phpbb_the Common Market, not only reject the Constitution but clamour in ever greater numbers for full withdrawal from the EU, that can only be good for jobs and good for Britain as well.
Merci, Monsieur Giscard!

Go get em Nigel!
How can anyone say he is not fighting a great battle for us! He always finds the dirt on the EU and ruthlessly and clearly exposes it! He is one of our big guns, and even if you want RKS as leader, you still have to respect the fine job Nigel Farage does for the party.

I agree. Nigel Farage is an asset to UKIP. Long may it continue!

Oh please! Writing an article on UKIP's website is hardly setting the political establishment alight. And why is this in the 'other eurosceptic parties' board? He hasn't joined his Tory friends at last, has he?

Nigel,
You called me biased in one post, I would suggest you need to take a look at your own position. We all know you hate Nigel Farage, we kind of got the idea from your user name. You could well have a very good reason to. At least have the grace to accept Farage does do the odd thing that is good for the party, helping found it for instance! I would guess a lot of people are like me and don't particulary like both sides tearing each other to bits, it will only damage the party in the long run.

Did I call you biased? I don't remember that! I agree Farage has done some good in terms of recruiting new members and being the 'public face' of UKIP. He can be very effective on TV and radio. My problem with him is that he has fostered a culture of secrecy and bullying at the top of the party, and is more concerned with protecting his own position than in carrying the party forward. He has also created a divisive 'us vs them' attitude between his acolytes and those who disagree with him.
I posted my message because I thought the other posts were ridiculously over the top about what was a very average article on UKIP's website.

Just to remind you of the the statement you made in my post about RKS making a statement. I did actualy withdraw the request, not because I was biased, but because new information came to light that made it wrong! I have always maintained the position that I just want the best for the party, I have swung one way, then the other and now am completley lost on the issue.
If you want to level a positive post about the current leadership, rather than attack it, would it not be better to post a positive post about RKS. That way we will remove all the negativity that is threatening to divide this party at exactly the wrong time. Obviously this goes for both sides!

I've given so much in time, money and effort to UKIP over the years, and it makes me very angry when I see what Farage & Co. get away with. Because most people are unaware of what is really going on, and because people naturally believe what the leader tells them, I feel I have to do my bit to tell people the unpalatable truth about the party's leaders.
And I didn't call you biased, I said it was a biased post. I wouldn't generalise about someone like that.

Well the post didn't write itself!
:-)
Anyway forget that, no biggie. I do now understand why there is movement against the current leadership. I think you, and many others like you have hammered the message home.
There will be a leadership contest sooner or later, so all I am saying is we stop the sniping now, and when the contest starts, then it is open season for people to convince people like me who to vote for. I would rather it stayed on the positive side though! I realise this is probably unlikely and that I am living in fantasy best for UKIP world!
