British Politics & Other Parties>BNP contradicts itself... again
HM 09:15 PM 05-11-2008
So... one second Nick Griffin is showing off his (token) Obama '08 cap for the Sun (http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage...e1729367.ece); the next the BNP is slagging off "Barak [sic] Obama" on their website (Obama — The Expected Victory : The British National Party). Does this make any sense whatsoever?

This is from the party whose leader supports the guy? Oh dear.

Does "favouring" include the heavy attacks the BNP just put in the aforementioned article?! Maybe they'd have been wiser not making a token gesture towards the black candidate to get a bit of positive press in the Sun (which most of its voters probably read).

I prefer Cameron to Brown but I despise both.
It's just the same.

But you wouldn't go round in a 'VOTE CAMERON' cap for the mass media, right?

And the Sun reported it as Griffin's endorsement to Obama?

Well the cap was given to Griffin as a gift from the Liverpool Branch as a joke, we got a pic and we got the sun to run a story with it making them believe it was some sort of 'expose'.

Griffin didnt endorse Obama at all, it was a joke that we used to our advantage to get a bit of free publicity :-)

And how much publicity would it have got if the BNP had actually endorsed Obama instead of making childish joke about it which relied on the fact that there was no way the BNP would support a black guy for president for the "punchline", such as it was, to work?

Moreover how much would such publicity have been worth in rebranding the Party and ditching the racist thing?
