Promises from a loser hold no water!. Lets see how his party does in the several by-elections today. If, as suspected they do poorly, then what will await him at conference next week ?. He is on borrowed time ! Thats great for other Unionist parties who will scoop up the votes and make progress under proportional representation elections such as Euro 2009.

We never had one when we went in - some might ask why we should have one on coming out? There is a view that it is possible to get a majority of MPs in the House of Commons to vote to repeal the 1972 EU Communities Act (i.e. the EEC/EU entry treaty) and replace UK membership of the EU with a trade-only relationship (which is, of course, what most people thought that they were voting for in 1975).

The last opinion on the UK and EU withdrawal (published the other day) showed that 56% would vote to stay in and 44% would vote to get out.

The immediately priority is to get a referendum on the EU 'Treaty' - the europhiles are trying to divert things into a referendum on the EU because they know that they cannot win a referendum on the EU 'Treaty' (i.e. EU Constitution re-heated).

Turn the Euro 2009 elections into a referendum , should we be be denied a Treaty vote. All UK Unionist parties should portray it as such.
