I seriously don't think they look at it that deeply! I think they just wanted change and the one way to get change was to vote for the other big party!

The anti-EU movement wins because the UKIP-hating europhile Livingstone has been removed from the biggest directly-elected political post in europe (after the French Presidency).

The europhiles wanted UKIP people to abstain and not use their 'spare' vote on Livingstone's main opponent (Boris Johnson MP) in the 1.5.2008 Mayoral Election.

Thank goodness all the UKIP people I know were not taken in by the tactics of the europhiles which were to try to get anti-EU UKIP people to abstain or to vote for anyone but Livingstone's main opponent Boris Johnson.

Yesterday morning we had a Mayor (Livingstone) who was pro-euro and pro-EU Constitution. From 11.53 pm last night we have a Mayor (Boris Johnson MP) who opposes both.

Did the europhiles want me to give one of my two votes in the London Mayoral Election earlier this week to Boris Johnson - No. Did Livingstone want me to vote for Boris Johnson - obviously he wanted the exact opposite.

The pro-EU people are angry tonight :-) that fellow europhile Livingstone has lost the top job in London's City Hall.

I am glad I played a part in the removal of UKIP-hating Livingstone as our Mayor.

Many people here in the capital have had enough of Livingstone's congestion charge, political correctness and bureaucracy.

It will be interesting to see what Boris does differently than Ken! I expect not a lot! I think in twelve months time all those who have hailed Boris winning, will realise nothing has changed!

I think the PC/pinko trot/ethnic 'minority' groups will be the first to lose their plush offices and funding.

I think the Tories are in for a bit of a landslide at the next election. They will hold the power and a lot of Tories don't like the EU. It has even been said that the reason the UKIP vote is not what it once was is because Cameron is not particularly pro-EU. Well not when one compares him to Major, who single-handedly really messed things up. So Cameron can see that in order to get ahead he must be at least a bit eurosceptic and that is why he made such a deal about the referendum. This kept the eurosceptics in the party happy while not creating a huge split and infighting, it also created a surge in the polls for them. Cameron knows he needs to keep his party united so I think it may be he will drift ever so slowly towards a eurosceptic position, because that is where the centre right votes are.

One thing that is not so good though is when the UKIP and Tories keep bashing each other. A lot of voters have sympathy with both parties and so I think a far better strategy is to target the real bad apples. Ken Livingstone is just such a person. Few on the right would argue with that and so I think it is best to remove some of the Liberal Democrat votes and Labour ones. The Libdems weakness is they are deceitful over Europe and when some of their supporters realise what it is they have inadvertently backed they might flip the other way. David Heath did and he is a popular person in the party.

Indeed it seems there is a healthy euroscepticism amongst people in this country and to keep that nurtured we must avoid looking extremist. That's what card the socialists play on people, they liken the right wing with Nazis. Even though it is completely false people still buy it. They try and label eurosceptics as wreckers and we don't want to fuel any of this. It should be more of a steering operation and getting backers as and when they personally decide Europe is the wrong path to go down.
