The Independent cracks me up.

The first thing Herr Boris does as Mayor, is to clamp down on people having a drink.

Not very Libertarian that.

They are conning no one. The bloke is a career man and will do what his master tell him.

Than means a full on Authortarian approach, pro-EU, high taxation and pro mass immigration.

London voted for that and that is what they shall get.

I think you misjudge him MK, I think he is an individual who holds views which are not easily categorised. I think he will struggle not to burst during his time as mayor because of all the restrictions - I doubt he will seek a second term.

I have not read before the suggestion that London Mayor Mr. Boris Johnson MP might not seek a second term. What Mr. Johnson has said (in a local radio interview here in London a few weeks ago) is that he will not seek a third consecutive as Mayor of London.

If europhile Livingstone had not tried to get a third consecutive term he would now be the loser of a London Mayoral vote. But then - when he announced he was going to stand for a third consecutive term as London Mayor he thought he was going to win easily.

Boris is a loon and shouldn't be in charge of anything.

Just remember the Tories have been watching for years and WILL use this to their advantage.

I suppose the use of the word Tory here means conservative. Really that word is meaningless, it means different things in different countries and to different people.

In Russia is a Stalinist a conservative? Is someone who believes in Jacobite Toryism or Clarendonesque or 1641 Toryism more conservative than people who believe the glories of the Empire? Is someone who has a penchant for medievalism more conservatism than either of the last two?

I'm inclined to think that the only true conservatives are anarcho-primitivists and I don't like them too much.

C'mon then Boris, lets see what you got. So far you have attacked those that drink alcohol and we all know who that's for and who that's against.

Pah, no change from Ken then, just a different angle.
