Excellent. The big question is: how the HELL did Labour WIN two seats? There is something worrying going on here. "Labour" and "win" haven't been in the same sentence for many a month now.

It depends how they did last year (which I don't know). 124 votes (5.82%) is better than what they have been doing recently where they have been getting on average 2-3% anyway so I wouldn't call it a "humiliation".

One reason that the Labour Party keeps winning seats is becuase its opponents don't vote often enough.

In Wigan West, Labour won with 40% of those who voted.

As only 33% did vote this is just 13% of those who could vote.
