After last week's disappointments, its good to see the BNP return to the fray with another very good performance.

How come we do not hear much about the UKIP's results or even that of the EDP as such? Don't they field as many candidates or something? Surely they are 'proper' parties campaigning to fight for their respective causes?
If they want to challenge or overtake the BNP in the populist patriotic quarters of the UK, they seriously need to stand far more candidates than they do.
Good result for the BNP and again, not bottom of the pile, but sadly not in the top two, which are the ONLY positions worth bothering with in time.

I agree. UKIP need to get their campaign hat on and actually stand candidates in elections (
:-)). I don't care if they get rubbish results first time round - they have a lot of work to do before other parties start syphoning their vote.

I agree, 18.5% is a good result for a first outing in this ward.
But it does highlight what a poor show the BNP had in the Arrow Valley County seat. There they have a presence and a councillor but figures are on the slide.
Maybe it is because they are known there!!!!!

They're very well known in Barking and Stoke, but they don't seem to be "on the slide" there.

Yes, Stoke is proving a stayer for the BNP. They may have gained another seat if Mark Leat had not tried to defend Longton.
Barking. To soon to tell. They won 12 in 2006 but have not won any by-elections since then and have not had to defend any.
Epping Forest. Lost two out of three in May
Kirklees. Lost one seat in May and about to lose another when Auty resigns.
Sandwell. Lost two last year.
Most of the gains in May were in areas with no previous experience of BNP councillors.

Barnbrook from Barking is now a G.L.A. member though and ex-councillor Exley from Kirklees got a very respectable vote.
Auty is resigning,he hasn't been voted out.
You do have a point about Sandwell and Epping, though.

Epping is a strange one, BNP defended a seat in a by-election there but in may lost to independents.
