Another promising result, but the BNP needs to continually appear in the top three to be more than just a force for persuasion. Double figures are always heartening, none the less.

Actually quite a poor result for the BNP.
Arrow Valley covers 3 district council wards, one of them, Winyates has a BNP councillor. In the May 2008 elections the BNP got 549 votes in Winyates. On Thursday they only got 367 from all three wards.
A drop of one third in the number of votes. Yes, I see that as a promising result.

...but not as many people vote in County Council Elections as District ones.

If your theory holds then the same result should apply to all the other candidates. But it doesn’t.

Winyates ward 1st May 2008.

Lib Dem 791
Con 675
BNP 549
Lab 486

Arrow Valley. 17th July 2008.

Con, 1437, Up 762.
Lab, 1041, UP 555.
L D, 455, Down 364.
BNP, 367, Down 182.
Ind, 103, Up 103.

The BNP had the same candidate in both elections.

This seat covers three wards:Wyngates covers one.

Even the winning candidate only received 1437 across the 3 wards, with labour getting 1041 across the 3.

But the point is.
If the BNP is even just standing still they should be able to get more votes in THREE combined wards than they did in just ONE.
In fact they got fewer votes from Winyates PLUS two other wards last week than they did from Winyates alone just three months ago.

Also, when David Enderby won Winyates in 2006 he got 890 votes

So let us see what direction the BNP is going

May 2006. 890 votes, Winyates ward
May 2008. 549 votes, Winyates ward
July 2008. 367 votes, Winyates ward PLUS two other wards.

No spin, no BS just facts.

You say
"Even the winning candidate only received 1437 across the 3 wards, with labour getting 1041 across the 3"
BNP fought the same election and they got just 367 across the the 3 wards.

People are more inclined to vote in Borough Elections than County ones:thatis a fact.

Can you provide us with the turnout and the number of votes for the other parties as well so we can take the whole thing into proper context.
