Letter published in today’s Daily Express, headlined:
'Denying us cancer drugs reveals anti-English bias'
------------------------------------------------
So, access to drugs is generally worse in England that in Scotland and Wales, particularly if you are a cancer patient, (“Get NHS priorities right”, August 11).
This situation further highlights the discrimination that people in England suffer, as we continue to pay, often with our lives, for maintaining this shambolic Union.
We are faced with a Stalinist nightmare, where the people are powerless, with our resources taken to be wasted and used against us. Why is an English life considered to be worth less than a Scottish or Welsh life?
All this is a consequence of the constitutional and financial shambles we are saddled with as a result of devolution, about which the English were never consulted.
Only an English parliament and a needs-based funding formula that does not discriminate against any nation within the UK can rectify this state of affairs.
Polls continue to show that voters want an English parliament. It’s time their voices were heard. In the meantime, let’s keep reminding Gordon Brown that he has no mandate in England on health or any other devolved issue.

OK, there's a very clear choice here. Either:
A) You have "local decision making" and accept that as a result, regional variations are going to occur in regards to what drugs are available for certain illnesses etc.
OR
B) Decisions are made by Whitehall and everyone gets the same drugs.
Which is it to be?

I don't
want an English Parliament. As things stand, decisions on health are taken
within the County. If an English Parliament were erected we'd lose power to London, again.
England gets a better deal now...decisions made at local level. How is this worse than decisions being made by a 'new' Parliament in London?

I don't think you get the picture. I don't want a
British parliament or a new parliament in London - simply the removal of 117 unnecessary MPs (clue is - they're not from England) from the existing Westminster parliament.
But decisions within a county - I'm fine with that.
