O'Connor's resurgency continues it appears free of the burden of the Eng Dems with interviews on ITV, BBC, Talk Sport (all on F4J web site apparently) and a new book about his political experiences. That should be interesting. It's the main story on politics.co.uk today.
From what I heard of his BBC Radio interview (Oxford) he said it was impossible not to feel sorry for the Eng Dems about losing two Mayoral candidates who both felt that the party had misled them, but if he had been told about their contact with the racist England First party he wouldn't have stood for them in the first place which seemed fair enough as even toque.co.uk said.
He did make an unfortunate remark in that the Eng Dems were historically the only party to lose 3 candidates (including Andrew Constantine) in the run up to an election in this country which would probably be their only claim to fame.

This is an EDP forum. If you have anything to say about the FEP say it on the FEP forum.
Have you not got anything more useful to do with your life?

Do you think that, after months of being a candidate, O'Connor behaved honourably and reasonably in flouncing off and out of the London Mayoral Elections earlier this year with less than a week to go before Polling Day?

In fact, why aren't people asking more questions about how the Eng Dems lost 3 Mayoral candidates (As I understand it) in nearly as many months!
We all need to move on and figure out where we go to from here rather than blathering on about what's happened already.

Also the people having a pop at O'Connor should take a long, hard look at his track record rather than the (yawn) usual smears. F4J is apparently going great guns and has all it's original members on board. And it's a household name which you can't say for this movement.
Of course the proof of the pudding is in the eating but rather than complaining perhaps people should get up and do something themselves.
Even a cursory look at chartwell's posts reveals that they are overwhelmingly obsessed with criticising the EDP! This from someone who feigns concern for English nationalism.
He's had a break from his denigration of the EDP for about a fortnight . . . probably to carry out other Labour Party business!

I'd say NO! But honour is low on the list in politics today. Also, to Chartwell, it's easy to cast slurs, so repeating the thoughts of O'Connor about the EFP just goes to show he's a bitter man who wants to cause trouble. This sort of thing has been going on for years. The Tories get the BNP taint and Labour (or it did) gets the Communist taint. The Liberals were taunted about being homosexuals, and so it goes on. It's cheap and not very cheerful politics!

If Matt O'Connor is the "political genius" he claims to be, then it would seem more appropriate that he concentrates on promoting his new political party, rather then continuing to debate his view of his previous relationship with the English Demcorats party.
He has already indicated that he believes the English Democrats to be under funded and "heading in the wrong direction", it seems bizarre that he continues to speak about them at such length.

Maybe he's still bitter about that press release that Robin put out which disclosed that he had sought help for alcohol abuse.
I imagine that it's difficult to deal with such things without former colleagues issuing press releases on them.

Robin Tilbrook (being a solicitor) only released this information to the press as it was true, and it was the only explanation for Matt O'Connor's bizarre behaviour.
Matt O'Connor's announcement 1 week before the London Elections, was damaging to
1) The English Democrats
2) Himself
3) The English Cause
================================================== ======
If he had wanted to launch a new "English" Political party, he would have handled the matter in a much better way by letting the 2008 London Elections "go ahead" and then "blame" the result on the way the English Democrats had handled the campaign, as it is, the result achieved was obviously damaged by Matt O'Connors own announcement, and he personally takes the "blame" for the result, it's strange that he had not thought this through.
================================================== =======
Matt O'Connor also claimed that the English Democrats had organised "nothing" for St George's day, the truth is that 5 events were organised and took place on 23 April 2008, Matt O'Connor did not show up to the events, and was not contactable, during the day, although he was invited along with all other English Democats members.
Richard Chambers (London Co-ordinator for Fathers 4 Justice & Good Friend of Matt O'Connor), however, did turn up to ALL the events held by the English Democrats on 23 April 2008 > which is why Matt O'Connors claim that nothing took place is even more bizarre.
================================================== =======
Matt O'Connor's self confessed "Alcohol problem" is the only explanation for such bizarre behaviour on his part, during the Campaign, which included missing a press event in Dartford, Kent and missing his slot on "BBC Radio London Drive Time", indeed the BBC phoned to complain that he had not turned up for the pre-agreed interview.
His "addiction" to publicity explains his announcement to the BBC on Live Radio, as it served no purpose, it simply damaged, everyone concerned including himself, and let down a large number of people who had put time and money into supporting Matt's London Campaign, for which he was given a virtually "Free Hand" within the limited budget.

Is this the same good, old, honest, open Gareth to be found ducking and diving on the COSG Forum? Why on earth should O'Connor be bitter about being - as you would say - 'outed'?
I think I know where you're 'coming from' Hattie, but the pertinent question now is . . . ?
