Environment & Energy>Personal Attacks
Alex McKee 08:26 PM 24-08-2007
It's come to my attention, belatedly as I'm not a frequenter of this particular forum, that it is full of personal attacks. These must stop, they are both against the forum rules and they do not promote intelligent, polite debate.

I realise that there has been a mudslinging from both sides, but further personal attacks will result in a warning from me, regardless of whether this is another moderator or not.

Also noted.

And whilst you may not have noticed any from Besoeker and nor have I, it is well-known that I am very passionate on the debate which occurs in this forum.

I will try my best or else be banned.

If you are unhappy with the frequency of personal attacks on this forum, I suggest you reign in one of your own moderators...

mentioning no names...

I saw with dismay, numerous threads being started with gauntlet thrown down;
if you don't agree with my philosophy then you must be against

each thread turning towards personal insults whilst losing the plot.

It's impossible to debate global warming without personal attacks. The issues have already been discussed, sides have been chosen, the line has been drawn. There's nothing left to debate.

On one side of the debate stands the freedom-hating, globalist, EU-friendly, commie IPCC-worshippers and on the other stands freedom-loving, individualist, EU-hating rationalists.

One of those sides doesn't really belong in this forum. Is it any wonder that the folks who do want them to go away?

No matter how passionate you might feel, there is no need.
