GH, I resent this remark because I feel insulted at being described as "blinkered". I take a great deal of pride in my determination to understand every aspect of any political debate I am involved in. In this, I had to develop a hell of a thick skin. My colleagues in the European Parliament call me "fascist" and worse. Some of my fellow UKIPers say I have "gone native". I heard that several times. All this because I try hard to see all sides to the debate.
I try not to be offended.
If you do not understand where your opposition are coming from, you have little chance of bettering them.

exhibits blinkered as far as I am concerned
personally I try to be skeptic about every argument and not to except as truth what people say without looking at the argument
