European Union>Just an Island off Europe?

This is from Sovereignty. I understand the editor was a leading member of UKIP.

THIS IS OUR ISLAND IN THE SUN...
Andrew Slade's article was published originally in the June 2008 issue of
Sovereignty:
"The Eurofanatics like to claim that Great Britain is 'a small island off
the coast of Europe', as if to imply it is like Heligoland or Gozo! They
rely on the geographical illiteracy deliberately imposed on our population
by the dumbing down of geography teaching..."
RELATIVE SIZE COMPARING BRITISH ISLES BRITAIN'S ISLANDS TO OTHER ISLANDS IN WORLD

COUNTING THE MANY LITTLE BITS OF BRITAIN
The following answers were published in The Daily Mail on 4 July 1995, p.
39, to the question "Exactly how many islands make up the British Isles?"
HOW MANY BRITISH ISLES ISLANDS ARE THERE HAS BRITAIN

THE EXAMPLE OF NORWAY OUTSIDE THE EUROPEAN UNION
Learn how Norway does it! The following uncredited article was published in
eurofacts on 6th April 2007 and was reprinted with permission in the
February 2008 issue of Sovereignty.
EXAMPLE OF BE BEING LIKE NORWAY IN OUTSIDE THE EU EUROPEAN UNION

NOT THE EU WHICH, "KEPT THE PEACE IN EUROPE"
Frank Taylor address this oft-heard claim. This article was published
originally in the January 2008 issue of Sovereignty:
"One of the principal ideological foundation stones of the European Union is
the nostrum that it preserves peace between previously warring neighbours.
At first glance that would appear so utterly true as to be beyond argument
or doubt. But it is so easy to let hubris blind us to an elementary logical
lacuna..."
HAS THE EU EUROPEAN UNION KEPT THE PEACE PREVENTED WAR IN EUROPE

BRITAIN IS A SOVEREIGN NATION
Alistair McConnachie and Dr Denis Cooper explain why the concept of
Parliamentary Sovereignty means that Britain is still sovereign and can
leave the EU Treaties whenever it wants -- webpage includes links to Hansard
statements confirming the fact! This article appeared originally in the
January 2006 issue of Sovereignty.

The famous 1930s? newspaper headline - 'Fog in Channel - Continent Cut off' for many people sums up the correct attitude towards the EC.

The important point is that we can concentrate on the bit of the world we can see and touch, and perhaps change this part of it for the better. But if the politicians try to build something as big as the EU then it will surely fall apart.
