Tom Wise MEP in the European Parliament Ind - Dem Group UK Independence Party UKIP Eastern Region Region
The tearing down of a poster supporting a written declaration critical of the European Parliament, as Adolf Hitler strutted across a movie screen nearby, left MEPs and staff alike speechless.
Written Declaration 75 attacks the practice of the Parliament travelling to Strasbourg every month, at a cost to the taxpayer of some 200 million euros per annum. The signatories of the declaration obtained proper permission to display a poster promoting the declaration near a coffee bar on the Parliament's third floor, a popular meeting place. Within view of all were two large screens, showing harrowing footage of events surrounding the deportation of Jews during the Second World War.
The poster was torn down by parliamentary staff, despite the proper permission having been obtained by the relevant MEPs. It seems dissent is no more allowable now than it has been at other times during Europe's history. I have to note that those who complained about this appalling incident were attacked as "euro-hostiles" and "clowns" by a German MEP.
After witnessing this spectacle I believe even more than ever, we are better off out!

Nice to see that Mr Wise is trying to justify the 'shedloads of cash' he receives for being an MEP
Is he still on Police Bail?
:-)

All MEPs get paid for being a MEP, something like 60 grand a year, not just they guy you mention. And their salaries are going up by about 35%. Anyway Mikeuk, I found a quote I would like to give you as it reminded me of you:
The jealous are troublesome to others, but a torment to themselves. ~William Penn, Some Fruits of Solitude, 1693

Ah yes Kali, but Wise makes considerably more than £60K pa (as do I - but in my case legally)
As Mr Wise was arrested earlier this year and is currently on police bail, you will not be surprised to learn that I do not envy him.
Having a Bad Hair Day in Europe's Kapital of Kultur (ROFLMAO!!!!!!) are we?
