The Norway Post : Increasing majority opposed to EU membership

Not surprising given that the Norwegian people have a healthy £100 billion *SURPLUS* in contrast to our massive - and increasing - national *DEBT*

Those who favour membership, on the other hand, say that Norwegian membership is important in order to show solidarity with the poorer nations of Europe.

That's not the most convincing of arguments to join. :-)

The EU has basically reached its peak and is now receding. Just as it has been with so many empires in the past. We have the Irish to thank for that; they had the balls to stand up to them and to reject their bullying tactics, and now Norway. I mean Norway has quite a reputation for being sensible, so it's hardly surprising.

Norway was saved by the evil CFP.

They would likely have voted voluntarily to join the lemming gang were it not for the CFP.

EU accession would be very bad for Norway, but CFP accession would be national suicide.

I always find it ironic that some of the best-off states in Europe aren't to be found in the EU. Just goes to prove that the EU isn't the trade coalition it's cracked up to be.
