This sage can tell us exactly what would have happened over the intervening years between 1928 and 2008 had Ireland remained part of the UK! Amazing isn't it? He knows what governments would have been elected, how long they would have been in office, whether we would have declared war against Germany in 1939, whether we would have signed the Treaty of Rome in 1958 etc etc
The trouble is - he actually believes all his whimsy and, because I have the temerity to call it into question, he becomes abusive! Not a happy, chappie!

So how does this work? When you change the subject, you don't want anyone to reply to that?
Except apparently, you never change the subject?
Hmmm... I'll have to consider that paradox....
FACT: I was responding to the personal attack in your Post#5. What ground there did I move from?
Pay attention!

Northumbrian asserts: "If Great Britain and Ireland were one nation, then the Irish wouldn't have been allowed to hold a referendum."
Well it's true isn't it? Like Scotland can't hold a referendum.
Anyway, I noticed you haven't replied to my answer of why I want to 'wreck' the Union. Perhaps, gosh, you can emphasise with my reasoning.

I think you mean one state [comprising four nations!] It's a hypothetical question, and I may give any theoretical answer I wish to give.

if Salmond has the power to hold a referendum about Scotland's independence from the UK, he also have the power to hold one about adopting the Lisbon Treaty or even about Scotland's independence from the EU.

I was going to comment on here regarding the EU vote but no other ****** seems to have, so I wont trespass on a domestic tiff.

OK! What was the subject in Post#5, and what subject did I move onto?

Good man! I'll nail this whimsical person to the floor if it's the last thing I do!

Have you got any evidence to confirm that?

It is a conditional argument not reliant upon 'evidence'! Did you not notice the word 'if'?
Now! What was the question you referred to in Post#13?
