I think they are worth getting involved with but there are none in my area. There is also the Steadfast Trust for practical action.

I would be more in favour of an English cultural organisation, that incorperates Anglo-Saxon culture. Supporting just one sector of English culture could leave us isolated, and as a nation England did achieve a great deal after 1066. I agree about reviving celebrations on traditional and sometimes forgotten English days. This would definitely be a step in the right direction.

I agree with you. There is a richness of cultural and folk heritage in England that runs through both Celtic and Anglo-Saxon people and times. These are naturally part and parcel of what is now the ethnic homeland of these folk. This doesn't mean that England should automatically become the "melting pot" of the world. If they do this (and they have) they will damage everything it once was. The trouble with so many people today all over the world is that they only care about getting rich and have very little interest in who their ancestors were or what they accomplished. It's very sad and I wish people could change their attitudes. Some are beginning to rekindle interest in the past, so it's not all bad news.

Agreed. Also I think cultural projects are just as important as political ones. in fact, the two can complement each other.

I don't know if the FEP would do it, perhaps Steadfast would be more suitable as it is not a political party, but we need meetings on this. There are many scholars to give talks. There is also Father Andrew Phillips who has ideas on reviving anglo saxon Christianity.

There is also The England Society, which could be the ideal organisation to take English culture to the people and provide historical research.
I agree with Silver Falcon and his comments about England becoming a melting pot and the get rich quick world we live in today. We do need a complete rethink and break away todays dog eat dog culture. If we can restore pride ion our nationa and pride and a thirst for knowledge in our culture, that will be a step in the right direction.

This is from The English County Flagds thread but fits here as a type of revival of our traditions.
