Councillor Reg Smith, 74, passed away on Monday 21st July after a long illness.
He had been a member of Stevenage Borough Council since 1976, representing the Pin Green ward.

On 1st May the FEP fought two, out of the many thousands of council wards in England. Now due to the sad death of Cllr Smith they will have an unexpected chance to fight Pin Green again.

The election hasn't been called yet but it only needs two electors the ask for it.

Pin Green Ward
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN pursuant to section 87(2) of the Local Government Act 1972 that Councillor Reg Smith, formerly a member of the above named local authority for the Pin Green Ward, has died and that a casual vacancy exists in the office Councillor for the said Ward.

An election will be held to fill the said vacancy after notice in writing has been given to me by two local government electors for the area.

If you'd bothered to do some research you'd find that the FEP beat the Lib Dems and Tories in 2 different local elections this year.
