The following statement was put out by FEPs leader shortly after mays elections. Can people really take this statement at face value given that it costs 5000 pounds alone in deposits to stand in just one region of England. There are Nine regions in total its hard to see if this can be done FEP have put out a statement in recent days in response to the EU how will they square that if they dont stand in next years EU elections.Debate
Now that the Free England Party has shown its appetite for fighting elections, our main focus will now turn to the next Euro Elections in June 2009.
I would like to see our candidate selection for the "horrible EU regions" taking place this summer and the various campaigns by our MEP candidates start to roll this September.
Would all those interested in helping in any way whatsoever, including as potential candidates, please contact Richard the Lionheart (or other members of the Free England Party NEC).
Our activists and other members will of course have priority at the selection of our candidates and the party's general support at these elections.
There is a great deal of work of all sorts to be undertaken at varying times between this summer and the actual elections in June, so please do volunteer - and your offers to help will be accepted fully on the basis that it is your call about your time availability and how you wish to assist in any event.
Regards, Andrew

This is of no concern of yours Mr Barnish so I suggest you mind your own business. The party and its members will decide where and if we stand, not you. You have been told several times we do not wish to debate anything with you. This is a matter for the party.

The statement below Arthur as was posted in the thread title. In the first post the statement was put out by the FEP leader shortly after three FEP candidates stood in mays elections.Draw your own conclusions if you take the statement one seriously and at face value and two if they will have the funds and the means to contest the Euro elections next year.

The following statement below was put out some weeks ago by the party secretary of FEP on there own FEP forum which is the total opposite of what his leaders statement said in may.The FEP party secretary all but rules out FEP standing in next years Euro Elections. So it has to be said that the FEP leaders statement shortly after mays local elections saying they were going to stand was just all hot air.And more of an EGO statement
FEP Party Secretary Statement
Re:Will Free England ever stand for EU parliament? 1 Month, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 2
If we'r practical, we're unlikely to leave the EU before 2013. The big 3 don't support it, and UKIP I believe, are growing weaker in the face of the growing strength of the Tories. I would suggest that next year's elections are too early in the party's development. When we grow in strength and able to put up a credible challenge, then yes, we should campaign in the 2013 elections.
The deposit for each seat is around the 5K mark, and is a huge finanial burden for any party. Labour will be struggling to find the money for this next year as they have such a huge debt problem.
In my humble opinion, I think it's best to conserve our finances for now, and save them for when our prospects are much better.

Yes, some weeks ago, but fortunes change which you don't seem to comprehend. It will be a decision taken by our NEC as to what the party will do for the Euros. As you are neither a party member nor a member of our NEC, it is nothing to do with you.
It seems clear Mr. Barnish, that all you are trying to do is cause trouble for your own ends. The question is, why? Why don't you do everyone a favour and mind your own business?

Not sure what all of the **** in the previous few posts is about. But, getting back to meaningful things,
I think that it is utter stupidity for any small party to stand in the EU elections.
Small parties need to spend their money in ways that will promote and expand the party. EU elections do not do this.
Case in point? UKIP.
They spent millions, got 12 MEP's (who can do nothing)
4 years later they have about 12 councillors.
Value for money? I think not!
