Free England Party>FEP and the English Independence Party

I think you have a valid point, it's always worth meeting people, to try to see if you have common ground.

Not everyone shares this view

Gareth Young of the CEP was willing to associate with BNP people in the Campaign for an English Parliament, yet he is most critical of those who try to deal with people with different views between differrent political parties.

See Here >>> Little Man in a Toque The way ahead for the English Democrats

One wonders when Gareth Young will start his own political party, as he seems to have lots of opinions on how other people should do things !

I've never knowingly associated with anyone from the BNP. Which individuals are you referring to?

If you don't want to read my opinions then don't solicit them.

Interesting that one of your main reasons for objecting to meeting other English Nationalists Parties, is your percieved damage to the English Nationalist Movement of which you confirm you consider youself are a member.

A quick scan of the internet, shows that there are only two or three people ever commenting on such meetings, one of them is you - there are no more then 6 blog entries on the subject, though I guess you can create more if you wish, and hence further damage the English Nationalist movement.

The fact that you dig out an e-mail dated October 2004, shows that this really is not a "news" item.

Your motives Gareth are poor on this issue and distract from some of the great things you have done for the English Parliament Cause.

The CEP magazine, discusses openly the BNP in its current publication, it seems that you believe there should be one rule for the English Democrats and another rule for the CEP.

If you think that I want to damage the English nationalist movement then you are even more stupid than I previously imagined.

The person broadcasting your meetings with racists was you. My private complaints failed to stop you meeting with these people and then broadcasting it as if it was something to be proud of, so let us see if a more public campaign has the desired effect.

The EDP and their ilk always introduce factionalism. There was a demo last autumn outside Parliament that hardly anyone attended. Even befor it started the BNP were told not to attend. Why do you think you are morally superior?

Unlike Danny I see no logical reason why two political parties with similar aims should not talk to each other.
If it only stops them from standing against each other in elections then it will be a success.

In relation to the thread for debate. If these two parties are in contact surely it would make sense to merge as one to maximise the potential if any.?

A quick merger can be a kiss of death. If two parties have very similar ideology it makes sense for them to co-operate. It doesn't mean they have to merge any more than a man or women with similar interests feel a need to rush to the registrar's office :-)

I know little of the EIP but I'm sure if both parties have competent leadership, they will discuss and deal with these issues in private and work out what is best.
