If you have been watching the news, reading bogs and newspapers I don't need to tell you the scale of the conflict and crisis developing beyond our shores. The most daunting realization comes, when you see for yourself the absolute lack of direction and current leadership, the unwillingness of politicians and government agencies to face up the oncoming situation.
From what I have seen with my own eyes our current leaders do not comprehend the scale of difficulty we face over the next ten years. They are surrounded by highly paid, educated men and women who can reach no agreement on any specific direction. We have become like the citizens of Pompeii who went about their daily lives , stupidly believing human sentiment could appease geological forces. Today we can not simply go on appeasing the economic and social forces that are about to rupture into all our lives . We need to understand and confront them.
No nation can stand against these external and internal forces as a divided house. We will simply be overwhelmed and taken down with every other "developing" country in the scramble for energy, security and food.
This nation , if it can find the courage to call itself a nation again, has a chance to make one final stand. With national will we need to begin the most radical economic, technical and social transformation ever undertaken in this country if we are to survive. If we are to survive!
What are our key priorities in making this transformation?
What sources of energy/ food do we have that can be used to bring independence?

This nation is more than just England, of course.....
I doubt that UK can be independent and insular.
We have been a trading nation for hundreds of years.
And, as I see it, that's been no bad thing.
But we have priced ourselves out of the market in almost every sector of industry.
