I think the title of the thread is misleading you cannot define practicing Christians simply by Church attendance.

The world is in serious danger of entering a new Dark Age with once more a religious cult dominating people everywhere.

This religious cult is claimed to have brought a whole raft of benefits in the past when it invaded nations but in reality all that it did do was provide stability where there had been warfare and enable the collection of scientific and other material and make it available to be studied and so used.

NOTHING that came out of the periods of Islamic rule was directly attributable to Islam as such, with the possible exception of the traveling compass and regional map to enable the devout Muslim to make sure his best feature was not pointed towards Mecca when he prayed or defecated.

It was the stultifying aspects of the cult of Islam and the ridiculous place of its prophet and his god in every aspect of life including what could be thought or done that saw Islam stall once the expansion of knowledge required the proposition that there WAS no god in order to move along the road of The Scientific Method (ironically enough thought up by a devout Churchman!).

To now see that same cold dead hand being stretched across the world of enlightenment and freedom is a sad thing indeed.

I read some time ago someone writing that

“Islam has no place in the modern world. It can not change to accommodate the knowledge and freedoms that people in the modern world enjoy, instead it demands that people should revert to the times that such things were unknown, in effect requiring the world to change to accommodate the yoke of Islam.”

I’ll try to find the source as there was more but that bit I remembered as it summed up the problem so accurately and succinctly.

Quite! Also, it is assumed that ALL Muslims are practising. They are not.
