Bonnie Dundee, you have misunderstood the link you posted to wikipedia:

Briton
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jump to: navigation, search
Not to be confused with Breton.
Look up Briton in Wiktionary, the free dictionary.Briton can be:

Britons (historic), an ancient people from the island of Great Britain.
British people, people of British ethnicity, originating from Britain, or citizens of the United Kingdom, the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands, or of one of the British overseas territories.
The Britons, an English antisemitic organization formed in 1919 that evolved into the Britons Publishing Society.

You conveniently overlooked the word "HISTORICALLY" as mentioned in the very FIRST word pf explanation in your link.

Besides all that, proof again, if proof were needed, that a forceable removal of people from a given area, such as repatriation is technically possible. Only as this thread suggests, it is largely the NATIVE BRITONS that have been forceably removed by default through the inept actions of this f*ckwitted government.

I still maintain that the use for modern British people is slang but I think I'm fighting a loosing battle but once it would have been recongised.

I didn't overlook the word so much as ignore its recent informal usage.
