I'm just plain opposed to killing animals without stunning them. The fact that they may have a brilliant life prior to that slaughter is of no value to me. I've seen both methods of slaughter, I know which I thought was less stressful and cruel.

Animals deserve to both live well and to die well. If you are happy that halal killing allows animals to die well, then fine. It's kind of a hard thing to argue about since it is so emotive, so perhaps best to beg to differ.

The empirical evidence however shows stunning is less humane and more painful. In fact halal/kosher lacked pain completely. It is quite simple, the studies measuring pain signals in the brain showed no pain in halal/kosher and quite alot, after the animal was stunned, in the stunning methods.
