He told a tribunal that Jeff Sarling said he was 'lucky he's working with us – his grandfather used to work as a servant'.
Mr Sarling also called a woman client a 'black whore' and branded a colleague a 'black c***', he alleged.
The 40-year-old accused Xerox of blocking him from seeing a counsellor and encouraging a 'racially discriminatory culture'.
Mr Mulugeta, who is from Ethiopia, began work at Xerox in London after being granted asylum in 2000.
In one incident, Mr Sarling wrote the word 'go' in company documents next to Mr Mulugeta's name because he wanted him to leave the country, the tribunal heard.
The printer was signed off work with depression in 2004 and, soon after his return, took an overdose when he was reprimanded for visiting a counsellor without permission.
He tried to kill himself again when he was refused a transfer request.
'Mr Sarling clearly did not like me. He did not seem to like any foreigners. He wanted them to leave and go home,' Mr Mulugeta told the employment tribunal.
The high level of damages being claimed is 'designed to act as a warning to other companies'.
Xerox denies the allegations. The hearing in Stratford, east London, continues.

Campaigning for changes in the law to compel some people to return to the land of their origins remains legal, abusing unwitting individuals because they are there to be abused is pathetic.
