Immigration>Self-segregation by Muslim people
whiteandproud14 04:39 PM 27-07-2008
I was in Birmingham earlier today and saw vast numbers of Islamic men and women, the women were all wearing a burka, this automatically singles them out as different to the indigenous population. Why claim you wish to assimilate and then wear such garments? It is self-segregation in my opinion.

They shout and scream about people victimising them, yet many of them refuse to wear British clothes and speak in English, why?

People should be free to wear whatever they wish.

However, it would be preferable if Muslim women did not choose to veil themselves, as is done in some Muslim countries (why it should be different here or in places like Saudi Arabia is nothing more than an absurd statement of identity in the former or the result of an evil patriarchal society in the latter).

I was in Birmingham earlier today and saw vast numbers of young men and women, the young men were all wearing a hoody, this automatically singles them out as different to the older population. Why claim you wish to be treated as adults and then wear such garments? It is self-segregation in my opinion.

They shout and scream about people victimising them, yet many of them refuse to wear proper clothes and speak in proper English, why?

Get the point?

Patriarchal society! More mindless repetition of the PC language you have been trained to use. Have you had the complete works of Foucault for your birthday?

A patriarchical society caused by a strict adherance to a terrible and immoral holy book.

I thought that was clear?

Do you deny that many Muslim countries do not enforce the veil on women? Do you deny that Saudi Arabia is patriarchical?

I dispute your PC language and grieve that you find it difficult to think for yourself. I fervently pray that you will grow out of it.

I wonder how many Muslim women really want to wear the veil, if indeed they were free to wear whatever they wanted.

I suspect Muslim men choose what Muslim women wear.

Hah, irony indeed!

So, by copying you I would be 'thinking for myself'?

What nonsense.

Again, do you deny that the Koran is a vile and immoral holy book? Do you deny that some Muslim nations do not force women to wear a veil? Do you deny that Saudi Arabia is a patriarchical nation because it adheres strictly to the Koran?

P.S. Prayer doesn't work.

I suspect Muslim men choose what Muslim women wear.

Which is one of the many reasons why Islam is a terrible religion.

However, that doesn't change the fact that people should be free to wear what they wish.

In fact, I bet there are many Muslim women who have been so blinded by their dogmatic beliefs that they think it is their place to be subservient to the man and are happy to be treated like cattle.

Yes, but who chooses what western women wear? Are you sure they are not swayed by advertising which is extremely professional and makes use of the latest psychological techniques. We delude ourselves who think we are free.
