Dear Sirs,
I can see no reason for Tony Blair to be celebrating the acceptance of Turkey's application to join the EU.
On the 1st October the EU Commission's own Impact Assessment Study reported that Once turkey is in the Eu it will cost up to 27.9 BILLION Euro's a year.
Under EU law Turkey would be entitled to net transfers of between 22.1 Billion and 33.5 Billion Euros a year.
Ankara itself would have to pay 5.9 Billion Euros to Brussels meaning a net payment to Turkey of 27.9 Billion euros.
What business looking to go INTO phpbb_partnership with another would accept such terms?
On 7th Spetember Frits Bolkesyein, the Internal Market Commissioner warned that the European Union will implode if farm and regional aid policies remain unchanged at the time that Turkey joins.
The day before, on September 6th, Martti Ahtisaari the former Finnish President and chair of a high level group investigating Turkish Eu membership rubbished claims that up to 4 million Turkish nationals would migrate to Europe.
His committee report said that forecasts indicated that there would be no more that 2,700,000 which is less than 0.5% of the EU population.
So that's alright then!
Why is this happening? Why do we need constant enlargement of the European Union?
Which country's tax payers will be picking up the largest share of this bill? As the biggest net contributor to the EU budget it will be us in the UK who get lumbered.
It's like offering to go 'dutch' with somebody in a restaurant and then they go and order lobster thermadore and suggesting that you might like to try the ham salad.
Why are Labour, the Tories and Lib/Dems all in agreement on the UK continuing to be a member of this VERY expensive club? Only the UK Independence Party are willing to take us out of the EU.
Remember this come election time and don't give your vote to those who seek to destroy the UK.
Yours sincerely,

I dread turkey joining the EU while we are still in it. Immigration will be even worse than it is now, plus our 'contributions' will, no doubt, increase to help pay for them joining. God help us!
I also understand that other islamic countries, such as Egypt want to join.

What's wrong with Egypt??
The Eu have already opned dialogue with the ex-french colonies of Tunisia, Algeria and Morroco and their are moving towards giving Israel a "special relationship" deal.
You couldn't make it up!!!
Worse than the Eurovision song contest.
