International Politics>Obama's Mission - to end Iraq War!
Mikeuk 07:56 AM 16-07-2008
Today brings the brilliant news that inspirational Democratic candidate Barack Obama has pledged to end the senseless bloodshed in Iraq.

Let's join his mission of goodwill and ring down the curtain on the wickedness, greed, violence and bigotry of the Bush years! :-)

Could be a political stunt to counteract his warmongering Republican opponent.

Just remember who is pulling the strings in American politics...

I thought I heard him say that he would end the war in Iraq "as quickly as possible", a long way from "ending the war as soon as he is elected".
For instance, in McCains eyes "as soon as possible" means 100years, yes he actually said that.

Who cares, the question is what are we doing there?

That's got to be a rhetorical question, surely?!.

That's one way of viewing it. (if you only watch the mainstream news as you probably do Mike)

The other correct way to view it is that he wants to "redeploy" troops to Afghanistan and possibly Pakistan and fight the same phoney war there.

Obama outlines policy of endless war

Speaking before a backdrop of massed American flags at the Reagan Building in Washington, Obama made it clear that he opposes the present US policy in Iraq not on the basis of any principled opposition to neo-colonialism or aggressive war, but rather on the grounds that the Iraq war is a mistaken deployment of power that fails to advance the global strategic interests of American imperialism.

"He summed up his policy as “a responsible redeployment of our combat troops that pushes Iraq’s leaders toward a political solution, rebuilds our military, and refocuses on Afghanistan and our broader security interests.”

Even Bloomberg confim this:

Bloomberg.com: U.S.

See how the media manipulate you to think that Obama is anti-war when he's not ?

And if you still have doubts, guess who is advising Obama ?

Meet Obama’s Foreign Policy Brain: Zbigniew Brzezinski

Until people wake up and realise that the Republicans and Democrats are batting for the same team of international banking elite nothing will change.

Luckily the Americans are waking up a lot quicker than we are here in the UK.

Re: "In McCains eyes "as soon as possible" means 100years, yes he actually said that."

No, he didn't. You are either ignorant or a liar.

It was put to McCain in a Town Hall meeting that the US could have troops in Iraq for 50 years, implying that that would be a travesty, and asking if McCain would like to see that. McCain responded that it could be 100 years, but the time period is irrelevant if their presence is both needed, and wanted by the Iraqis. He cited, for comparison, the facts that the US troops have been stationed in Germany and Korea for 60 years.

Obama and his media whores spread the disinformation that McCain is a warmonger who "wants war for 100 years". One reporter who for some bizarre reason is not part of the Obama cult had the nerve to ask Obama if that is what McCain said, and accused Obama of lying. The Chosen One changed the subject. Another non-acolyte, on ABC, challenged Obama to admit he had misled voters. He responded by lying.

I can understand that you might be very disinformed from having BBC and al-Guardian propaganda garbage washed into your brain. However there is a thing called the internet, by which one may avail oneself of alternate sources of information. There are even YouTube videos of the Town Hall meeting in question.
