Yes I saw this article in one of the main newspapers too.

Firstly I notice it says "net users suspected of illegally sharing music."

This is a bit concerning if the grounds for suspicion are abused - we've certainly seen govt abuse other powers they have.

Personally I think this is the first step and the precedent for demonizing the internet.

I suspect blogging will be next, then "cyber-terrorists" and then they will cry wolf and say it is too dangerous to allow the public to access "unregulated" websites.
i.e. only establishment sites will be available to the public.

Sure hope I'm wrong though.....

Funny you say that - I was thinking exactly the same.

Obviously he's acting on behalf of artists to protect record sales, so I have some sympathy.
