I don't want a VPN.
I want all traffic on the LAN encrypted, then decrypted before it is broadcast to the WAN.

So terminate the VPN tunnel inside the network on your gateway Mac then.

You're really not getting it, are you Tito? My Mac is almost exactly the same as your computer (I'm running a BSD kernel, I assume you're on Linux) but faster (I assume you're not running dual quad core Xeons with 12Mb on chip) and with a nicer interface (instead of Gnome/KDE or whatever it is you're using). *Anything* you can do on that, I can do on this - and there's usually a nice interface to do it in.

Replace your kernel, as I did to make my router.

And why are you comparing processors?
What do you expect when you spend a few thousand on a computer? Pity the rest of it is generic Taiwanese unbranded rubbish (excluding the GPU, of course)
Unless you spent even more on good quality components!

Go on then! Put a different kernel onto your OSX installation. The results will be funny.

Which bit of it is generic unbranded rubbish? The custom Intel mobo? The custom fans? The Samsung OEM RAM? The Sony and Pioneer OEM DVD-DL burners? The IBM/Hitachi Deskstar OEM HDs?
All OEM, all branded.

I'd also like some proof as to the BSD-ness of your kernel. Specifically, what are the similarities?
"Apple say its based on 'x'" doesn't really cut it either.
