Hi everyone.
Im brand new to this forum, and active politics really. I am 25 years old and live in Altrincham, near Manchester. I have always keenly followed politcs and current affairs, although I have remained one of the many who have strong thoughts and opinions and yet do not speak up. I'm utterly fed up with the way this country is looking at the moment and am quite franky, very concerned about where it is headed! I have worked abroad extensively and have come to understand and appreciate many different cultures and political viewpoints. I have spent the last few years building up my own company (or should I say fighting against banks and the govenment to set up my own company) and as of the end of october I will have sold that company to my business partner. I feel the time is now right for me to make my stand and if I am to make any sort of difference to the future of this once great nation then I must start somewhere!
I have spent many months now studying the policies of UKIP and fimly believe this is the party for me. If the party will have me, I am more than willing to offer my services to UKIP. I may be young, but I feel modern politics needs a strong voice for the population of tomorow. Gone are the days of John Major and the shocking image of our country, portrayed by govenments of the past. It is time for a change. Myself and my peers, are the future of this country, and I believe UKIP has the moral ground and the policies to lead that future. I have no degree in politics and no background in sleeze, ( maybee this rules out a career in politics for me?) but I can speak my own mind and feel I understand the frustrations of the people of the UK right now. I believe I would make an excellent representative for UKIP and would revel in the oppourtunity to do so full time.
If anyone is able to offer me any support or guidence in becoming involved in a professional position within UKIP, I would be very greatfull. This counrty needs more young voices with clear conciences, high moral values and grounded patriotism to get involved with the running of our country. I hope I can help.
Please contact me either by email or by replying in this forum. I apreciate any response, even if it is to tell me I'm dreaming!
Many Thanks,
Neil Collins

Neil,
I wouldn't worry about your age too much; parties love to have some younger members involved. I am not sure how you would go about becoming a paid officer of the party, but I would strongly suggest that you should get in touch with your local branch or constituency. You might also consider putting your name forward to stand as a PPC (prosective parliamentary candidate) for the party.

Anthony,
Thanks for the response and the advice. I'll look INTO phpbb_putting myself forward as a PPC.
I've emailed a copy of my thread to Birmingham and UKIP North West. I hope I recieve a response as encouraging as yours.
If anyone else has any comments or advice for me, please post.
Many thanks.

Surveys are showing the the most Eurosceptic part of the population is the younger generation. The pollsters are putting it down to the fact that youngsters haven't witnessed Britain being the sick man of Europe, thus do not fear going it alone.
At 31, think anyone who takes an interest in the EU issue, becomes amazed at the sneaky way it has been implemented, the lack of positive results of implementation so far and the out and out lies that are peddled by the pro-sell out mob.
Add to the mix that the worst prime minister in history and his corrupt toadies are so hell bent on feathering their own nests by flushing Britian down the EU loo, and you get a pretty strong case for saying no.
I still can't find a single pro-EU person who can give me one good reason to join. Of course they use the fear tactic to try and scare people INTO phpbb_it, and this is where we have to come in and reassure people.

Neil,
Probably your age and enthusiasm matter less than your actions and what you bring to the table.
Could I suggest that you read the report here
http://www.brugesgroup.com/eurorebut...ve?article=242
particularly the part about fake democracy, then formulate an email and circulate it to EVERYONE on your mailing list in the UK. Everyone deserves the chance to know the truth that faces us. Make sure to include the important links to this forum, plus the other two major info routes
http://www.brugesgroup.com/mediacentre/
and
http://www.ukipuncovered.blogspot.com/
Then ask your local constituency for support to set up public discussions (particularly for your age group) to present and discuss issues raised in that Bruges Group paper. Pubs, clubs, gym everywhere people are likely to give you 30 mins and listen and talk.
Your actions will speak volumes and your drive will be visible.

Hi Neil,
If you don't get any help or responce from 'the top' DO Let Anthony & the rest of us know. You will not be the only younger person to offer to help, indeed dare I say, save the Independence Movement and offer not taken up.
Have similar ' young ones' under 40 faced similar problems ?
