competely correct, but policies are required if you want people to actually vote for you.

UNLESS (one option) you go back a few years and have a party which absolutely has only ONE objective, like the referendum party, and states that if elected, they will not take office, they will appoint existing ministers and civil servants to continue running the country in a coalition of the brightest and best, hold a referendum, then if the referendum is for coming out of the EU, allow the coalition to manage the difficult transfer, after which another GE would be held.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys.

I had looked into the libertarian party a while ago , but just recently (like an hour before I registered here) found out about the Independence Party and ,correct me if Im wrong, but I've read it is the 4th biggest party.
Also, thanks for the info on the EU. I wasnt aware it was that big of a problem. If it isnt too much trouble do you know of any decent, accurate, article or video on the net where I can find out more?

Thanks again.

PS. Happy New Year , lets hope its better than the last :-)

Agreed! I don't believe in a one issue protest party such as the Referendum Party. Equally I don't believe the route of winning local elections first, the Lib dems are expert at this and they're going nowhere. In my opinion, Yes we have to have policies but not reams of them, (you can't be all things to all men) but the essential thing that must be hammered home is that no party can implement their own policies whilst Britain remains a member of the EU!

MVW, hi from the dying United States.

Like Ron Paul said, "political elections are short term, Revolutions
take longer." It's all about educating the sleeping serfs worldwide.

We must destroy the central banks worldwide. The Bank of England
and the international bankers must not have control of a nation's money
supply. Rothschilds have been involved in America's wars since the
American Revolution. Behind the Federal Reserve System. They have
more money and power than nations. Cast the moneychangers out of all nations.

They are behind the EU. Behind the North American Union. The global
warming hoax. They finance both sides in wars. No politician but Ron
Paul has spoken out against the moneychangers.

Ron Paul's new book, Revolution, A Manifesto.

Personally I agree somewhat, but I don't like Paul's solution, ie the gold standard because it would cause severe deflation and restrict the money supply(assuming banks are kept to only lending from reserves they actually have.) I prefer dea of mutual banking and denationalising the money supply, similar solutions offered by many from Proudhon to Hayek.

An article by Hayek on denationalising currency is in this selection of writings.

On the other hand, if instead of protest party's we pursue something more like a proper party with a full platform is likely to alienate many anti-EU people simply because they don't like the party's other polices. Specifically the left or right leaning people will have problems if the party takes a stand to the left or right. So it is a catch-22 in some ways.

Perhaps the answer is to form powerful lobby and citizen's groups at the grass-level. Or to allow individual candidates to decide upon their other policies depending on where they are standing.
