Nice to see you here on the forums ole chap. I am not from the U.K, so I cannot commet on your political atmosphere unfortunately. I am an american and I think that is a lot of Britains problem. I recognize that the american culture is leaking over to the soils of your country. Maybe it's not the oil? Lol, anyways fascists are a bunch of homosexuals let's face it. Fascism has always hurt the people more than anything else save for death and even that I would rather prefer. Extreme lefties are communist and extreme righties are dictaters, so either way you lose. I hope that you enjoy your stay here at the forums for as long as you deem fit. It's all sort of confusing here with a varing variety of ideas shared or argued about in different lights.

It's interesting to me how you say "I have no qualifications to give an informed opinion" but then you are say "The factual info, not the subjective info."

By the way I "I take the scientific information from the scientific community" too. Like in the case of 31,000 scientists who signed a recent petition against man made global warming.
That doesn't mean it's a "conspiracy theory".
It mean the media are unable to debate the science, resort to namecalling and play on the ignorance of people who can't make the effort to educate themselves through alternative sources away from the mainstream media.

There is no reason why your average specialist would want to lie. I know governments lie and TV presenters are economical with the truth and advertisers just want you to buy their stuff no matter what, but your average scientist or specialist does his research, gets his results and presents them. He is expected to work within strict contexts of academic integrity.

If people don't want to accept the results or research they are free to reject them, but the scientific community must debate them because they all speak the same language and understand the results and research methodology. That is how the scientific method works. But I am not a scientist so it would be better to talk to one as he or she could give far more comprehensive answers than I.

In the case of MMGW the scientific community has presented their results, research.

Unfortunately it has been plagarised or ignored by the IPCC.

There is every reason an average "specialist" would want to lie.....

Obviously if a government scientists funding is dependant on proving MMGW, he/she is likely to use "science" in an attempt to prove it and secure their funding - it's called political motivation in case you didn't know.....

But hey don't believe me - watch the "Great Global Warming Swindle" on youtube if you haven't already.....

It's similar to a police officer who needs to make unjustifyable arrests to fill his quota of government target figures.

That's how the system works Frith - some on some airy fairy basis of "goodness".....

Okay, I can't do this. I have a real life to live and at the moment there is a police helicopter buzzing our street. That means someone has been attacked, either an armed home invasion or a rape, or both. I can't get into any weird debates with people. Where I am is just too real and too depressing for me to have to live with. Okay? If there's one thing I'm not full of it's love. I need to go watch the fences so no one is leaping about in our yard armed with something nasty and trying to hide away from the cops.
