Greetings to you Kawena. No specific comments on Hawaii I'm afraid, only the folks who reside in Washington D.C. :-)

What's your opinion on Hawaii separating from the United States, yea or nay?

umm.......... how?? or why did you ask about separation?? where did you hear about it??

I'd heard and read about a movement in Hawaii which campaigns for separation from the United States. I don't know much about it though, hence the question.

They're also trying to introduce 42 days detention without trial. This is in addition to existing draconian measures brought in under the recent Terrorism Acts.

Needless to say we're heading in a very bad direction. There are campaign groups against such measures, several of which (e.g. NO2ID) I am a member of.

I couldn't possibly say, I'm biased! Beautiful rolling green hills, rugged coastline, beautiful beaches, lots of wide open space, fields etc etc. It's easily my favourite area of the UK...but York and Yorkshire are also very nice.

I was a big fan of the amount of freedom you have, but like here some people seem bent on taking it away from you.

I took a quick look at your part of town........ Nice!!!! soo very bueatiful.
I would really like to live in a place like that. Hawaii as come to be soo over populated. allot of the bueaty is lost in the over devoplement.

I never knew.... I feel sorry for what you are going through. what the time frame for all of this happining??

with 9/11 hapening, they brought to the table the patriot act..... that seems mild compaired to what you got on your plate.

So, who is pushing for all of this??

The Labour government. The European Union is behind plans to record communications.

You can read more about some of the proposals here:

Yay for separation. I'm glad it reached the UK, the State of Hawaii via the media has managed to degrade the movement but I know what is right. However, because this has been long overdue, we have those Hawaiians that are not educated with what the US has done so I humbly tell them to get educated. Was what you read of the Hawaiian movement positive?

It wasn't really positive or negative. Basically I know of the movement, but how much support it enjoys was never mentioned and from what I can determine the Federal Government is dismissive of calls for any kind of separation.

Welcome to the forum, Kawena. Westcountryman is right to bring the ID card and government surveillance plans to your attention.

We're a little further down the road to a police state than you are but your Government is doing it's part to damage your freedoms and once your people give an inch, you'll be giving a mile.
