Aloha from hawaii.... this is my first post.

I come here top learn as to what you all think of hawaii as well as the us... both good and bad.

I can't say too many postive things about the Pres.

I just hope I can see through your posts as to what going on in your country and your views on america....

separating??? from the US.....actually, back in the day, the queen of hawaii was over thrown by some business men with the help of the Us gov. does Iraq sounds famillar?

anyways... there are lands that belong to the queen, some 1.8 millions acres.. the lands are being sold and or leased/rented without just compensation. the hawaiian people want whats thiers, and the US won't give it up...

The US had apologised for the over throw. from that point, the hawaiians feel any laws/ land dealing after the over throw are null and void.

from what i see, beeing hawaiian/american........... thats f----- up!!

they want control. they may as well, plant a gps in someones arsh.

you lose all your liberties and your freedom.

Yes. We're getting ID Cards, a national database of everyones DNA, iris scan and fingerprints (the National Identity Register) and they're planning on recording all SMS messages, e-mails, phone calls and webpages visited by citizens on a central government database.

They're also trying to introduce 42 days detention without trial. This is in addition to existing draconian measures brought in under the recent Terrorism Acts.

Needless to say we're heading in a very bad direction. There are campaign groups against such measures, several of which (e.g. NO2ID) I am a member of.

I couldn't possibly say, I'm biased! Beautiful rolling green hills, rugged coastline, beautiful beaches, lots of wide open space, fields etc etc. It's easily my favourite area of the UK...but York and Yorkshire are also very nice.
