The term for "the greater good" was a old saying that ment even if you did not like something you still did it because it would benift others that was ment to be my point I was trying to make. I also agree Roland UKIP does need powerful players to lead the party forward.

I've got nothing against the greater good as in society choosing and willfully clubbing together and sacrificing a little to help others.
As long as it's voluntary otherwise the "greater good" becomes the "final solution".
I'm in no way suggesting that was what you meant but some times I feel that if people aren't weary of how high aspiration and their either personal or collective vision of how the world should be can become totalitarian philosophy then we lose sight of democracy, freedom, liberty and all that we are trying to protect.
To coin the phrase "the road to hell is paved with good intention".

yes I see what you mean but there again I would not be part of UKIP if i did not think democracy, freedom, liberty ect are important.

Pedantic moment of the day: To coin a phrase means to create a new one.

Kelvin, your post:
"yes I see what you mean but there again I would not be part of UKIP if i did not think democracy, freedom, liberty ect are important.

...should have read:
"Yes, I see what you mean, but there again, I would not be part of UKIP if I did not think democracy, freedom, liberty, etc, are important.
So, anyway, how are you doing?"
Kelvin, I would take up the Aards points when commenting here. Unless, of course, as I do occassionally, (yes, OCCASSIONALLY) relax and have a wee drink when I come home from work and start to blather on about things, and get words, letters and so on, all mixed-up.
For a candidate, there can be no reason to slip-up with what would otherwise be, minor details of grammar (again, unless one gets slightly overcome by the taste of a fine English cider, as I do).

Fair play just given some of the debate on here I think rather than protect democracy, freedom, liberty ect they seek to just over turn one order with another. I think we're all guilty of it but we all lose sight of the fact to protect these agendas means putting up with things we don't like.
So anyway how are you doing ?[/quote]
I'm good thank you.

"As they say, "the road to hell is paved with good intention"" could have worked.
