Introduce Yourself>Passive Resistance

Hello there my friends and fellow headless chickens;

Is nt it time that we organised a campaign of 'lack of co-operation'?
Those people in power can only govern with your/our co-operation.
A supervisor , boss can only govern you if you allow him to.Therefore the first thing you should do is is operate a policy of non-co-operation; or as i put it '
"Ghandis Flip Flops" Dont forget that a mere stick of a man, and an old man at that brought the British Empire to its knees with just that technique. You can do the same. Just do your job but simply refuse to communicate with your bosses or supervisors and simply deny that they exist..
I believe they call this Passive Resistance.
As long as it is Collective Resistance it stands a chance of success; but wait.
You can also resist in concert. If we all stand together on an issue ,then let it be an organised and concentrated one. Boycott every individual store or service that supports the status quo agenda on a particular day so that it creates an effect. For example; if you go to a shop that supports a particular party then collectively boycott it for one day. or two days or whatever. Get the picture?Put a spanner in the works. Sabotage it with problems of a trivial nature that take up time. There is might in numbers so lets all vote for an epetition that we all have support for and jack up the numbers.Ok so the Govt uses these forums to guage opinion for their own evil agendas but at least they cant ignore them.
Next, let us pool resources and highlight our supporters efforts to gain beneficial patronage too.
There lots that can be done yet. Dont just give up and moan about it expecting someone else to do the work.A tug of war will not be won if somebody takes a rest , now will it?:-)
Just imagine if someone in a wages office 'forgot' to make up their boss's wage's salary or ruined an important meeting.Ok its a doomsday scenario but lets face it it would work for a while.

Watchman, I've got a sneaky feeling you're not going to find many who share your ideas and aspirations, me included!

Actually Watchman, I do share your ideas and aspirations, but as I am self-employed, it is slightly more difficult to put into place.

I do boycott things that I find politically correct or go against my grain, but it sort of feels like .....'******* in the wind':-)

If the internet goes down the censorship road, (and I am sure they will), then I shall cancel my broadband, although I will find it quite hard to do.
I personally think that you, Watchman, have the right idea, and I have always worked like that, even knowing that the numbers involved made a miniscule difference, it made me feel better and somewhere along the line we have to stand up and be counted.

Well done Watchman :-)

Hi watchman, and welcome. I kind of agree with Seasider here, though I'd draw the line at deliberate sabotage by not paying wages, I certainly agree with boycotting shops and services that support things I disagree with. Being a part of this forum has only solidified my opinion that I need to be politically pro-active against ideologies that are not in accordance with my own.

With particular reference to clothing stores I'd love to boycott all shops that use what is in effect slave labour in other countries. I do already boycott coca cola and Nestle as organisations because of their business practices. But the thing is, these companies are tricksy and have multiple brands or buy into other companies. For instance, I used to be partial to a pret a manger, but McDonalds owns 25% of it now... Stuff like that happens all the time.

I also want to boycott product produced in Israel as a protest against the Human Rights abuses they perpetrate and to highlight the fact that they have a record amount of resolutions passed against them by the UN.

But it's hard.

The US and Britain for example sanction torture and human rights abuses and a sham military court in Guantanamo, they also sell arms to states that use them to oppress their own citizens. How do we get 'lack or co-operation' to scale up to be an effective political weapon against countries?

The list of unethical companies and countries are a mile long. Are there any ethical ones?
