Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott missed his family Christmas lunch after being taken unwell.
He was treated by a doctor at his Hull home before being admitted to hospital and diagnosed with a kidney stone.
Mr Prescott was served Christmas dinner at hospital and returned to his home in the afternoon. He is now feeling "absolutely fine", a spokeswoman said.
Mr Prescott said: "I'd like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff who looked after me on Christmas Day."
He added: "They do such a brilliant job, 365 days a year, and it was a real pleasure to have my Christmas dinner amongst such dedicated people."
I wonder if the other patients got a look in on the christmas dinner?

He better not give names, they might get death threats.

Surprising isn't it that people not given a huge salary, a free house or two and a secretary to bang, can actually do any work. Prezza must be astounded.
On the other hand, are we all convinced that The Deputy Prime Minister got the same treatment as anyone else?

I would be amazed if the patient next to him got the same treatment. It amazes me further that he did not go to a private hospital, like all the other liebour croonies. Prehaps he trying to rebuild his 'working class' image. After the croquet incident, its best he gives up!

More Labour spin, reading through it ,he took ill before lunch,Doctor came, looked him over and sent him to poor peoples hospital,he ate lunch with them and returned home the same afternoon.
Not too much planning gone into that ploy to gain some sympathetic headlines then.
The fat, treacherous, greedy Labour bustard.

I agree with the comments against Prescott in this thread.
One UKIP member I spoke to yesterday was especially pleased by the headline on the front of the Express (yesterday) giving news about the europhile turncoat, hypocrite and House of Commons Court Jester Prescott becoming unwell.
Prescott is a nasty man with nasty political views  .

I just got a vague idea from what you wrote about Prescott that he wasn't at the top of your Christmas card list this year  .
