Bring it on I say.
Rather you than me!

It is completely unneeded and is just creeping authoritarianism.

Oh absolutely - and "creeping" is the best word to describe it (as in all authoritarian and totalitarian states).
I think that's what Joe Bloggs fails to comprehend - once the precedence is set then there's no turning back.
Give them an inch and they'll take the yard and more.

How's your cat going to cope with not being fed for 42 days?
You actually know I have a cat? That's quite worrying.
Perhaps a preview of what the database state will be like in years to come

In all seriousness though I will look at those Youtube videos, thanks to the person who gave me the link.

On topic: More authoritarian legislation that is allowing the terrorists to win.
I don't understand how it lets terrorists win?
Surely them NOT getting caught and blowing up the House Of Commons would be them winning?
For the majority of innocent UK citizens who aren't terror suspects, how does this effect the ordinary man? Not in any negative ways from what I can see, just reducing the chance of a terrorist blowing up his daughters school.
As I mentioned in my earlier post, I dislike the government taking away our civil liberties as much as the next, but terrorism is a different issue altogether. It is one of utmost seriousness and should be dealt with by any means possible, for the softly-softly approach could be devastating for our country

Very high. As it happens.

Wouldn't that actually be
everyone winning?
I mean, to this day I still can't work out whether we're celebrating Guy Fawkes' capture or attempt.
(disclaimer: since the latest round of terrorist laws could have me locked up for glorification of terrorism for the above post, I'll point out to the humourless government lackies reading that it's a joke)

Earthling, I could phone the police and say I suspect that you are a terrorist. See you in a month.
