This may be true, but reason and logic should trump experience. No matter what my experiences are, 2+2=4 for me and this is also true for a Chinese person, an Arabian and a Brazilian.

The fact is, Halal slaughter and poor treatment of women defy reason, and more importantly, the catagorical imperative. Morality is the same, no matter your time or place and we cannot excuse people because of their experiences.

the problem is SMidgey people have diffrent ideas of what morality is there is no set morality.

I agree with you about halal slaughter and treatment of women but the fact is I know many Muslims who do not treat women in the way Kernow described.

God probably doesn't believe in Clegg either. Like the rest of mankind.

The Archbishop of Canterbury said -

Dr Williams told Radio 5 Live presenter Simon Mayo: "It matters less to me than to know they are honest and reliable and that what beliefs they have they hold sincerely.

"This isn't a country where Christianity is imposed by law. It's a country with a nominally Christian majority. And that's good.

"And whoever becomes prime minister has to understand that and work with it rather than against the grain of it."

That makes sense to me. Interesting that his wife, who is Spanish, is raising the children in her faith. According to St. Paul, his unbelief or lack of it does not negate a Christian marriage so long as one is faithful.

It also shows that the House of Commons contains a rather larger array of religious thought or otherwise. Long gone the High Church with the Tories and the Low Church with the Liberals!!!
