Liberal Democrat General Issues>"Man who helped Lady Thatcher win 1987 General Election appointed to Clegg's team"
Britannist 10:47 PM 08-01-2008
Committed europhile Clegg, new leader of the obsessively pro-EU Liberal Dims, has appointed to his team the man who helped Mrs. (now Lady) Thatcher win the 1987 General Election.

Clegg - like all the failed Liberal Dim and Liberal Party leaders before him -says he wants to "break the two party system over two Parliaments" (i.e. after two General Elections).

Most political analysts expect the europhile Liberal Dims to lose seats at the next General Election.

Well you never know as he was part of the Thatcher team the man might even understand the true face of the EU and might even explain to Clegg who hates the idea of ID cards that he soon won't have the choice.

The sad thing about europhile is they can't see past the rose tinted glasses, they can't see that some thing that on the surface sounds the answer to all the worlds ill's is just the start of greater ill's. All social ideals that have promised utopia for the average man have done the opposite just like communism and fascism did and they just don't see it.

They can't and even if they can they won't.

He says he hates the idea of ID cards. Whether he means it is a different matter.

The europhile Liberal Dims want some of the anti-ID card vote. The real anti-ID card people are in the anti-EU and eurosceptic movement (including UKIP).

I'd say he hates the idea of ID cards but dose not understand the true implications of having them. This is my hope he'll start his little campaign against them then he'll want to add wait to it, then he'll do his home work on them to add weight to his campaign and to give an argument then may be just may be he'll realize the true scale of the argument. I can only live in hope.

The Liberal Dim party is swarming with europhiles. I wouldn't trust any policy commitment from them; certainly don't believe any of their promises (except the one they made to end the independence of this country; destroy our Pound and increase immigration) and hope that their new leader Clegg goes the way of all their other previous failed leaders.

Don't get me wrong i'd rather eat Bernard Manings socks after he'd been for a three minuet jog on a hot summers day than vote for that bunch of idiots it's just nice that at least one political leader has publicly voiced opposition.

Any one in government that genuinely believes the EU is good for the people of this country is not fit to be in government as they clearly have no idea what the EU is about when it is their responsibility to know what it's about.

Expect a huge U-turn ala Blair from Clegg on ID cards. Politics is about saying what the base want to hear to get in. Once you are in, you do what you want/originally intended.

It's not the politicans fault they do this. It's the publics for rewarding them every single time.

clegg and his filthy party are fully aware that the ID Card idea in just about dead in this country, thats why he can say he is against them.

Of course, he's off the hook when the EU eventually DIRECTS THE UK to issue them,so,political gain is made by saying he is against them.

They aren't dead. They will perhaps make it voluntary to start with, while making life VERY difficult for those that don't "volunteer". Then as more and more people submit, they will then force through the mandatory part.
