Good. I hope they drag away a load of support.

You are welcome around here during local elections. Mendips District Council has a Tory majority over the Libdems of one and our Tory uber eurosceptic MP has a three thousand majority over the Libdems. They are not only anti-democratic but they waste more money than Labour in some cases, like £2 million on loads of speed signs which had to be taken down as they were so ridiculous. The roads would keep changing limits every few hundred yards or so.

Yep, utter fool. I have opened a new thread for that unbelievable comment.

The fact we now have to beg the EU to let us keep such things says it all to me.

I have just received this by email and hope it interests everyone -

GET CLEGG!

Patriotic liberals have reacted with anger to news that Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg will help block calls for a referendum on the Lisbon Treaty (interviewed on the BBC Radio 4 Today programme).

David Durant National Secretary of the recently formed National Liberal Party (NLP) said:-

"Many Liberal Democrat voters disagree with the Lib Dem's support for a stronger EU. Nick Clegg's decision to make his M.P's vote against calls for a Referendum on this unpopular treaty is wrong and will upset many liberal minded people.

The NLP is relatively new but we will now begin to offer the liberal voter a patriotic alternative that does not want Britain sold out to the European Union".

The National Liberal Party will be launching its' website in early February which will reveal their plans to give the Liberal Democrats a bloody nose at the next General Election! David Durant said:-

"We will make them pay for supporting an EU Superstate and denying popular democracy by blocking a referendum on Lisbon."

PLease note this isn't the real Liberal Party, of Gladstone and Lloyd George etc, despite the similarity to what the Liberals have been saying re. a referendum. The NLP is a hilarious recent attempt to re-brand the Third Way, an ex-National Front splinter group so tiny that it makes the Liberal Party look like a political giant (which we ain't!).

The Liberal Party (the real one, that is) has tried hard to persuade the LibDems to back a referendum, as they promised they would, but it looks like we've failed. We will now do our utmost to recruit the many LibDems who are disgusted by their party's lack of principle.
