One thing that the Liberal Party's national website (Welcome to the Liberal Party) has in common with its UKIP counterpart is an almost total lack of information about the party's local councillors. This is a pity, because the Liberal Party's main strength is in local government.

I definitely won't be running a detailed list of Liberal councillors here! But for anyone interested, here is a summary of info I've stumbled across here and there regarding some of the Liberal Party's councillors. All info here is incomplete, unofficial and just for fun.

County Councillors
Worcestershire County Council: 2

District, Borough and City Councillors
Wyre Forest District Council: 7 (the Liberal group is the 3rd strongest on council, bigger than Labour or the LibDems)
Exeter City Council: 4
Liverpool City Council: 3
Peterborough City Council: 3
Torridge District Council: 3 (all of whom defected from LibDems in August)
Ryedale District Council: 1

Here are a couple I missed, both in Cornwall:

Cornwall County Council: 1 Liberal councillor

Kerrier District Council: 1 Liberal councillor

(Actually, both the above seats held by the same guy!)

Only thing is, I'm not sure everyone here will be terribly interested to know the names of all the individual Liberal councillors. (Do correct me if I'm wrong, though!)

Maybe I should just make a list giving for each authority the total number of Liberal councillors and (where I can) a link to a local Liberal Party website or the relevant page of the council's website?

UKIP can learn from The Liberal Party a few things about being successful in local elections.

The Liberal Party focus on a few areas and do very well in winning seats and retaining seats.

A few of my friends think that Steve Radford is a superb councillor.

3 Lib Dem cllrs defected to the Liberals not long after i moved to Southampton, all of which lost their seats at the next locals.

The Liberal Party are just a slightly more insane version of the Lib Dems. There's nowt "liberal" about them at all (see 50% tax rate, for example).

You are absolutely right! I thought I had looked all over that website, but I now see that the list was cunningly hidden away in plain sight on one of the main pages. Whoops.
