I am sure the Southampton branch of the Liberal Party would welcome you as a member if you want to be in tune with our time.

Here's the Southampton Liberals blog posting for 4th May:

All too divided and factioned though - one single Liberal party is needed!

As I disagree with a few LP policies I thought I'd launch a new Party, working in partnership with LP but giving people a choice in which party they support.
As the name suggests, the Economic Liberal Party is mainly concerned with economic issues but is currently working on a full range of policies.

Great idea SS - I think everyone should start their own party - then everyone can vote for the party which absolutely offers exactly what they want.
No need then to discuss issues amongst party members to come to common agreement.
It seems too good to be true - must be a catch somewhere.

Yes I know SS - but it does seem surprising what you have done, for unless your party catches on and excels the LP then all of the votes you might get are totally wasted.
Since there is a straightforward process to change LP policy, wouldn't it be better to go this route to consolidate the liberal vote?

I just think sometimes it's better to launch a new party, clean slate, policies that really help people.
Many people who support the LP also support the welfare state. I disagree with the welfare state as it encourages lost production.
