No of course not. However I think we can agree that the Anglo saxon period was not a brilliant example of multi cultural harmony. Or do you disagree ?

John, this was the question which kicked off this thread:

I think we've established that the anglo-saxon period was indeed "diverse and multi-cultural". I never said it was always peaceful as well! That takes time, which is why I'm glad we started so long ago.

And we have established that
1) This was caused by the sword - not by the agreement of the local population
2) Ethnic minorities helped foreign invasions
3) There was a lot of violence as result of England being "diverse and multi-cultural".

I am sorry are you anti or pro multi culturalism ? This is a very bad example, certainly talking about the anglo saxon period makes me more anti immigration than I was before (and I wasn't before !!).

What we have actually established was that it was riven by division and conflict, and in that respect I suppose we aren't so far different today.

Britain today is an unhappy, uneasy and discontented place, a million light years away from the Disneyesque Potemkin Village image purveyed by our lying socialist masters.

Mark my words, one day the misguided and foolish people of this country will drown beneath a tidal wave of blood. Hopefully I shall not live to see that day.

Actually conflict and division and multicularism can happen at the same time.
In fact often do so

For the naive and the disingenous people who have not yet worked out that ethnic groups are given preferential treatment over us, who should have priority in our own country, here are a couple of starters.

I dont disagree with David H about the preferential treatment given to ethnic groups, but the schemes put in place to achieve this are often not designed by ethnic groups.

In this country we are are own worst enemies.

We are an ancient Caucasian nation with a distinct European Christian Culture. In a great many respects the only thing which differentiates many European countries is language.

We are not the New World and it was wrong to encourage people of alien races and cultures to come to our sacred country. And we have encouraged them by various means, otherwise why would 'refugees' always see Britain as the 'nearest free country' even if they come from
the other side of the world?

We have become the suckers of the world and it appears only the immigrants realise it.

Like the Angles and the Saxons.... etc...

And don't forget the Romans, what did they ever do for us?
