Yes I agree wth that there has been a growing feeling that society has become increasingly disjointed. Incidently I am sure it is linked to the causes of crime and is one of the things that needs looking a if/when the Criminal Justice System is overhauled.

This is a very good question that even the best brains at DCHQ have been unable to find an answer to.

What I'm wondering is if the BNP is missing a vital component that will convert it from a protest vote (against Islam?) into a serious political force.

Last year it was noted that the BNP still can't devise policies on tax. Could this have resulted in a situation where Joe Public thinks "your policies on immigration and multiculturalism are very nice, but I'm concerned about how much tax I will have to pay under a BNP government? I pay too much tax now and I'm not willing to pay any more, so I will vote for the party with the lowest tax regime instead."

The big problem in this country is between real true patriots and those one-worlders and internationalists who are opposed to the nation state and its real identity. Yes I find it very difficult to understand why this event is held up as an example of 'The Best of Britain' or whatever.

We hold a gala in Portchester every year. There are no arrests and no stabbings etc.

I have never had the least desire to attend the Notting Hill Carnival.

Very interesting History lesson in this thread - which totally misses a very important point.

The Romans were a 'minority' here, as were the Anglo-Saxons. When the Roman Military left around 410AD it is virtually certain that the mass of camp followers left with them. This can be found in the degrading of the coinage and buildings. Towns, which had been open prior to 410 had to build defensive walls. I was taught that the Anglo-Saxons were hired as mercenaries by the Romano-British to protect them. From whom?

The indigenous British population, still living in their huts, seem to have rejected the remainder of the Romans - thus giving the impression that the stayed true to their own culture while the Romans were here. The Anglo-Saxons, as has been mentioned, were not too different from the Brits, so integration would not have been a problem.

More recent immigration had seen small numbers of people come into the country, each hoping to find a new life here.

What is now happening is MASS immigration, not because people want to come here for the culture or integrate with British society, but to cream out of the system whatever they can. Soft-touch Britain is too tempting an opportunity for many people to pass up.

That's true, I would say that even up until the 60s and 70s there are hardly any immigrants to be seen, I enjoy watching British films from that era.
