Ubuntu is a Bantu word and relates to the interaction of people with others, a philosophical concept mirrored by, for example, Vietnamese Buddhist Thich Naht Hanh, who promotes a concept of "inter-being". In a way, it's similar to the Native American philosophy summed up in "Earth is not ours, we borrow it from our children".

I have started to have a play with Kubuntu, pretty good with the vast ammount of free stuff out there. I keep getting criss cross lines appearing all over the screen - anyone know what causes these?
